As individuals, Conseco employees invest their time and talents in a number of causes that contribute to the well-being of our communities. As a company, we provide financial assistance for organizations that serve the same causes. In support of Conseco's business - and the professional and personal development of our employees - we encourage employee engagement in our communities. Approximately 870 Conseco employees participated in one or more volunteer activities in 2008, donating more than 8,000 hours of volunteer service during the year.
Team Conseco recognizes the contributions of employee volunteers through the Step Up Awards program, which honors up to seven employees each year for outstanding volunteer work. The program awards up to $20,000 of annual cash grants to the community organizations where employees volunteer.
